View Of Life

Life is so amusing, what you do unto others will someday come back and haunt you.

Letting go is part of life, we need to teach ourselves how to say bye.

Moving on is essential to our maturity.

No one is immune to mistakes, they always happen.

How we react to them determines who we become.

Being afraid and ashamed is a sign of the lesson leaned.

We need to stop being selfish, lets start to think of the needs of others.

Reduce your lies and treat others with dignity.

If it happened, it was meant to, don’t stress about it (that’s why it is called the past).

Yesterday needed to be in order for today to come.

Live for today and rejoice yesterday because tomorrow awaits.

You are judged by how you treat others...

My Mother my angel

My mother, my angel!

by Muslim on December 17, 2010

.sharaing  dis post

DEAR Mother!

It’s been exactly 1 year since you went back to your creator because of cancer. I  remember still like it was yesterday when the doctor said that you don’t have more days left and when I came and told you about it I started with saying “You do believe Allah, and that whatever happens it happens for a reason and of course no one can decide when the time is up apart from  Allah himself”
And you knew what I was about to say, but the thing that I could notice from your face was the sadness of not being able to see your only daughter of age 12 growing up under your love and care. I could sense although I don’t know the awful feeling you might be going through to not being able to be there for the wedding of your eldest son which was being arranged during your last week of being in this world.
What was going through your mind mum when you were so ill and couldn’t make it to my in-laws because of your health when we went there to talk about asking them for the hand of their daughter? When we returned to the hospital you were smiling, but later on you bursted into tears saying to me that this was the day I was waiting for since you were born, that’s what every mother dreams of, the day when she is to bring home a bride for her sons. And so unlucky am I that I couldn’t even sit straight on this
day. But the thing that I was content with was that you were told by the others that the girl is lovely and reminded them of you. That made you smile and you said with pride, “I knew my daughter would be nice because I never did injustice to anyone, I will show everyone how to treat a daughter in law”
That was the comfort you gave to yourself and I backed it by saying, “Of course, a lovely mother in law will never get a bad daughter in law”  The days passed and you said you dreamt that you had a week left somehow and you had tears rolling down your cheeks. I said “Come on Mum, that doesn’t happen such, you can’t know when you are to pass away, you are to stay with me and be with dad and all of us and see the youngest daughter wed as well and play with your great grand children” But somehow you didn’t  find that comforting and just smiled, as if you are saying “Who are you fooling my son?” hmmm
I went to every mosque and had them pray for you, asking them to ask Allah if your time has come just make it easy on you. Just be gentle with my mother. And when I ran all over to gather “zamzam”, the holy water. I told you to drink this from now on and not the regular water. And you were so innocent when I used to come to the hospital you were like “I told your aunt that if there is anyone who can make me eat something for the sake of my health it’s you, you always force me to eat saying if you don’t eat you can’t fight it” then you laughed and deep inside.. I cried, because I didn’t want to notice your health deteriorating, all I was seeing was a mother who gave me life, a mother who held me in her arms when I used to be ill, a mother who once admitted me into a school when I was 8 and I ran out of school and followed her all through the city back home and I could clearly hear you saying to grand mother “I hope he is ok, I hope he has eaten” May Allah grant you with Paradise my dear mother, you deserve nothing less than that.
When I used to feed you in your last few days, the thought of you doing the same to me when I was young broke me into pieces. I remembered a day when we were back home on the rooftop and I was around 6, and all of a sudden I had a seizure due to the high fever. And you were frightened to death and held me in your arms and covered me. I still remember the cry and your words comforting me saying “It’s ok, I am here, it’s ok I am here” … I was saying the same to you when you were teary mum, I was there…
I was in the mosque and got a call from dad saying “hurry up, mum is not well” I took the train and was there in a few minutes. My heart was pounding and I wanted to hold back my tears in the train, but somehow without realizing the world around me they kept on rolling down my cheeks, i couldn’t wait to reach the hospital, and when I did I saw dozens of family friends in the room and the ladies were all sad and crying.
You on the other hand were in some kind of a coma although you were making signs with your hand, and I knew what you were saying. You wanted to be covered since there were others there too. That is my mother, on her last few breaths but fearful of Allah. I had them cover you and was furious, made them all get out of the room and kept on saying “Why why are you all doing this, why , she is awake and she is well why are you all here and talking so loud saying she is no more, how can you all be so rude”
They all went out but returned when dad let them in again. I called the nurse to get the ambulance over but she wouldn’t hear out saying it’s nothing they can do, I kept on knocking on her door again and again and forced her to call ambulance as soon as possible and said if something happens to my mother because of her not doing her job it will not end up good for their sake.
She called the ambulance, and three ladies came and picked you up and transported you into the ambulance onto the bigger hospital. I sat in front and told the driver lady that this is not my mother she is my world, my universe. Please drive fast I can’t lose her, I am going to get married next month, I can’t do anything without her. The two nurses sitting in the back of ambulance had their heads tilted inwards and they also were teary saying don’t worry, she will be ok.
We were at the hospital and you were put into a room. Dad, and aunt were with you. I came back for a while with the brothers. Then I got a call around 3 in the morning that she is not well. I woke up a brother and drove as fast as I could to the hospital. With strange thoughts in mind I still had hope.
When I came there I saw you still in the same state, totally not knowing where you were, and eyes tilted elsewhere and you kept on saying something with your lips. The tongue was a bit hard due to the mouth being open and I sensed it and asked the nurse if I could give you water. She goes yes you may, she gave me cotton buds and I made them a bit wet and put them in your mouth to moisten your tongue and lips. You bit on the cotton bud and wouldn’t let go, I was scared that it will go into your throat and stop your breath, I held it back and you let it go. Then again I wet the cotton bud and wet your lips because they were so dry and i sensed you gulped a little as if you were waiting for some water.
The thought that went through my mind in those few minutes was, That here lies my mother, the one who gave me birth, the one who went through so much pain in  bringing five children to this world, had a life that was full of tests of all types and here I am giving her the last few drops of water.. am I doing something to repay her love and care? No I can’t.. I never could. The nurse said that we would have to remove the machines that are connected to her since she won’t need them. I broke down and said you can’t do that, and she said “The blood flow in her body will automatically leave rest of the body and only allow brain and heart to function for a while before…..” and she stopped because I said I don’t want to hear it.
She took them off and I held your hand and felt it, the nails were little blue but my hope was still young and positive. I started crying, wondering these are the hands that held my hand when I fell down million of times. These are the hands that have no feeling left, I kept on rubbing them asked my little brother to hold the other and had my aunt rub her feet. Innocent thought struck my mind that maybe if we rub your hands and feet the blood will flow back. But then again, does a mind work properly when your whole universe is dissappearing right in front of you?
I kept looking at you and my brother was watching your beautiful face and crying. Then unknowingly I was seeing your breath having a longer pause between the last. I kept on praying and rubbing your hands and kept on saying next to your ear,
“I am here…I am here”
I sensed a little twitch on your eye brow as if you said “I know my son, I know you are here”
And then after a few seconds my little brother says
“Mum is not breathing, mum is not breathing”
and he started crying..
I knew that very second mum that life from now onwards will not be the same because no one will ever pray for my safety and my health like you did, now if Allah puts me in pain or hurdles, no one has the pain in her heart like you would have.
Mum, you were my angel and always will be. May Allah grant you the most beautiful place in Heaven.
Until we meet again

your son!

The Story of the Butterfly

A man found a cocoon of a butterfly.
One day a small opening appeared.
He sat and watched the butterfly for several hours
as it struggled to squeeze its body through the tiny hole.
Then it stopped, as if it couldn't go further.

ButterflySo the man decided to help the butterfly.
He took a pair of scissors and
snipped off the remaining bits of cocoon.
The butterfly emerged easily but
it had a swollen body and shriveled wings.

The man continued to watch it,
expecting that any minute the wings would enlarge
and expand enough to support the body,
Neither happened!
In fact the butterfly spent the rest of its life
crawling around.
It was never able to fly.

What the man in his kindness
and haste did not understand:
The restricting cocoon and the struggle
required by the butterfly to get through the opening
was a way of forcing the fluid from the body
into the wings so that it would be ready
for flight once that was achieved.

Sometimes struggles are exactly
what we need in our lives.
Going through life with no obstacles would cripple us.
We will not be as strong as we could have been
and we would never fly.

I am ALLAH's Property and Creature!

“I am Allah’s property and creature [so] if Allah (subhanahu wa ta’ala) wants to place me out here in public with everybody and have my freedom [then] with Allah (subhanahu wa ta’ala) [is a] wisdom that He has alone. [And if He] would like to place me in a prison, then this is His choice. He is my Creator and I accept His decree.

I remember when I went to my parents I was quite confused as to what to do, and my mother told me, she said: “Son, remember that death only comes once in life” and my father who’s 84, 85 years old, who’s technically blind said to me: “Son, I would prefer to see you die in prison and that you are keeping to your principles to what you believe in, rather than for you to sell your soul, and to be rejected by yourself first and foremost and of course by your Lord.”

And I remember it, when I was thinking and I was trying to figure with my soul, what should I do?

The Sharia teaches us to take the lesser of two evils, but I remembered that the person who as a young man, a young boy, I grew up reading his books, and loving his teachings, Sayyid Qutub saying that he was facing the executioner,

“By Allaah, the finger which bears witness that there is none worthy of worship than Allah, how can it sign to something which is false?"

I remembered Ibn Taymiyah who said: What can my enemies do with me? My paradise is in my heart and it goes with me wherever I go. To put me in prison is to let me have a khalwa (private devotion with Allah), to execute me is martyrdom, to kick me out of my land is siyaha (to have a travel journeying in the path of Allah.)

So when I thought of these people who I read their books and studied and taught and I [then] compared [them to] myself, I knew there was only one choice that I could take, [only one choice] in front of me, that is to put my trust in Allah and hope for His mercy and know whatever Allah decrees for me it will only be good.
And as ‘Umar ibn al-Khattab used to say:I do not care in what state I wake up in the morning whether it is good or bad, since I do not know what is good for me or what is bad.

Anyway brothers and sisters I do not want to take any more of your time. I only just said these few words [so] that we remind ourselves that in the end we are Muslims. We are pleased with what Allah decrees for us. We know that whatever Allah decrees for us would never have left us, and that what Allah causes to leave us would never have hit us. And we know that our purpose in life is not a PhD. It is not making this money, but it is to worship Allah. And I can worship Allah just as well in a prison cell as I can outside in this masjid. And I hope Allah (subhanahu wa ta’ala) returns me back to my brother[s] and sisters at the earliest time, and that He blesses each and everyone of you and the rest of the Muslims with the good of this world and the hereafter.”

The day of special people (hold their hands dont let them alone)

Dignity and justice for all of us is the theme of this year’s International Day for Persons with Disabilities, as well as for the 60th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
Dignity and justice for all persons are established universal principles.  Since its inception, the United Nations has recognized that the inherent dignity and the equal and inalienable rights of all members of the human family are the foundations of freedom, justice and peace in the world.  These principles, along with equality and non-discrimination, have guided the work of the United Nations for the past 60 years and are enshrined in various instruments such as the UN Charter and the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, as well as in treaties such as the International Covenants on Human Rights, and the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities.  These instruments are among those which  make up the international human rights framework, are complementary and reaffirm that all human rights are universal, indivisible, interrelated, interdependent and mutually reinforcing.
2008 is a significant year in the international human rights movement given the entry into force on 3 May of the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities and its Optional Protocol, legally binding instruments which set out the legal obligations of States to promote and protect the rights of persons with disabilities, as well as the 60th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR). Article 25 of the UDHR provides that each person has “the right to security in the event of unemployment, sickness, disability, widowhood, old age, or other lack of livelihood in circumstances beyond his control".  Several articles in the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities expound on this right to security, including article 10 on right to life and article 14 on liberty and security of person.  Article 28 is more specific in that it asks that States Parties take steps to safeguard and promote that realization of the right to an adequate standard of living and social protection, including ensuring “access by persons with disabilities and their families living in situations of poverty to assistance from the State with disability-related expenses, including adequate training, counselling, financial assistance and respite care”.  These instruments mark a clear reaffirmation that persons with disabilities have the right to full and equal enjoyment of their human rights.  They also mark a clear reaffirmation of the principles of ‘dignity and justice for all of us’.

Around 10 per cent of the world’s population, or 650 million people, live with disabilities. The Convention promotes and protects the human rights of persons with disabilities in civil, cultural, economic, political, and social life.  However, all over the world, persons with disabilities continue to face barriers to their participation in society and are often forced to live on the margins of society.  They are routinely denied basic rights such as to equal recognition before the law and legal capacity, freedom of expression and opinion, and the right to participate in political and public life, such as voting.  Many persons with disabilities are forced into institutions, a direct breach of the rights to freedom of movement and to live in the community.

Eighty per cent of persons with disabilities – more than 400 million people – live in poor countries and there is a strong link between disability and poverty. For example, the statistics on employment for persons with disabilities are staggering.  In developing countries, 80 per cent to 90 per cent of persons with disabilities of working age unemployed and in industrialized countries it is estimated to be between 50 per cent and 70 per cent.  The rights to education and health are also routinely denied.   Ninety per cent of children with disabilities in developing countries do not attend school, says UNESCO.

Approximately 20 million women acquire disabilities as a result of complications during pregnancy or childbirth. This continued marginalization against persons with disabilities highlights the need for all States to sign, ratify and implement the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities and its Optional Protocol.

The United Nations and the global community must ensure that all its work is inclusive of persons with disabilities.  The Millennium Development Goals will not be achieved if persons with disabilities are not included.  Efforts to achieve the MDGs and implement the Convention are interdependent and mutually reinforcing.

On this International Day of Persons with Disabilities, as well during the year-long celebration of the 60th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, let us use “dignity and justice for all of us” as a rallying call, as these principles are far from being realized for everyone.  Dignity and justice are embodied in the civil, cultural, economic, political, and social rights promoted by the Convention. Therefore, the International Day of Persons with Disabilities is a time to make a renewed commitment to the ratification and full implementation of the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities and its Optional Protocol.
One of the fundamental obligations contained in the Convention is that national law should guarantee the enjoyment of the rights enumerated in the Convention.  States Parties should thus consider the best ways of giving effect to the rights guaranteed by the Convention in domestic law.  Implementing legislation should include the terms of the Convention or a specific reference to them, in order to indicate clearly that the laws should be interpreted in accordance with the letter and spirit of the Convention.

Legislation alone will not ensure that persons with disabilities can enjoy their human rights. States will need to formulate effective policies and programmes that will transform the provisions of the Convention into practices that will have a real impact on the lives of persons with disabilities.  For persons with disabilities, as for all persons, the denial of one right can lead to the denial of other rights and opportunities throughout their lives.
Article 33 explains that States must set up national focal points governments in order to monitor implementation of the Convention's precepts. States must also set up independent monitoring mechanisms, which usually take the form of an independent national human rights institution.

The full participation of civil society, in particular persons with disabilities and their representative organizations, is essential in the national monitoring and implementation process. International monitoring is achieved via the Committee on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities and the Conference of States Parties. The first meeting of the Conference of States Parties was held on 31 October and 3 November 2008.
This International Day for Persons with Disabilities is a time to make a renewed commitment to these principles of dignity and justice and to ensure implementation of the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities.
All human beings are not only entitled to rights, but also have the responsibility of making universal human rights a reality for all of us.

breast cancer awareness in pakistan

breast Cancer poses a serious health risk for women throughout the world. More than one million women world wide are diagnosed with breast cancer every year. It is estimated that 1 in 9 Pakistani women will develop breast cancer at some stage of their life. In developed countries there are national cancer registries where every newly diagnosed cancer patient is registered. This is very helpful to understand the epidemiology and causative factors of cancer. In Pakistan we do not have such a registry at national level. Several studies and reports suggest that among Asian population, Pakistani women have the highest risk of breast cancer (after non-Arab Israeli women).Breast cancer is a disease which results from the interaction of different environmental and inherited risk factors. With the development of new technology by which DNA of cancer cells can be studied closely, our understanding of the biology and genetics of breast cancer has greatly improved. With this knowledge therapies for breast cancer are coming onto the market, which have given a new lease of life to these patients. Since the early 1990’s death rates from breast cancer have decreased by approximately 25% in the USA and Europe. This has been possible mostly due to screening mammography and continuously improving treatment strategies utilizing chemotherapy, hormone therapy and more recently targeted therapy. While the prognosis of breast cancer has improved over the years, the exact cause of breast cancer still remains unknown. However certain risk factors have been identified. The following factors are known to increase the chances of development of breast cancer.
Female gender and increasing age: As a woman grows older her risk of developing breast cancer increases
Hormonal factors: Early age of onset of menstruation and late menopause are associated with an increased risk of breast cancer. Women who do not have children or have their first child after the age of 30 are also at an increased risk. Prolonged hormone therapy is an additional risk factor.

Benign breast disease: Women who have had non-cancerous lumps in the breasts are also at higher risk of getting breast cancer compared to those women who have never had any breast problems.

Path

When my heart become constricted and my path become narrow i took my hopes in your pardon and forgiveness as an opening and an escape my sins seemed very great to me but when i compared them to your forgiveness i found your forgiveness to be greater *imam shafi*
